This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which Cole's Hardware, Inc. (“Cole’s Hardware,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, maintains and discloses information collected from customers and users (each, a "User" or “you”) of the www.coleshardware.com website ("Site"). This privacy policy applies to the Site and all products and services offered by Cole's Hardware.

Personal Information

We may collect personal information from Users in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when Users visit our Site, join our Friends & Family email list, subscribe to our newsletter, respond to a survey, fill out a form, order products from our Site, enter a sweepstakes, apply for employment, apply for a credit account, or in connection with other activities, services, features or resources we make available on our Site. Users may be asked for, as appropriate, name, email address, birth month, physical or mailing address, and/or phone number. If you apply for a credit account or employment, we may collect additional information such as your social security number, driver’s license number, and date of birth. If you apply for a credit account, we will also perform a credit check.

Users may, however, visit our Site anonymously. We will collect personal information from Users only if they voluntarily submit such information to us. Users can always refuse to supply personal information, but doing so may prevent them from engaging in certain features on our Site.

How We Use Collected Information

Cole's Hardware may collect and use Users’ personal information for the following business purposes:

• To improve customer service: Information Users provide helps us respond to their customer service requests and support needs more efficiently.
• To personalize User experience: We may use information in the aggregate to understand how our Users as a group use the services and resources provided on our Site.
• To improve our Site: We may use feedback Users provide to improve our products and services.
• To run a promotion, contest, survey or other Site feature: To send Users information they agreed to receive about topics we think will be of interest to them.
• To send periodic emails: We may use the email address to respond to their inquiries, questions, and/or other requests. If User decides to opt-in to our mailing list, they will receive emails that may include company news, updates, related product or service information, etc. If at any time the User would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, we include detailed unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email.
• To send promotional text messages: If you provide your mobile phone number to us and consent to receiving text messages, we may text you with coupons, offers, and other news related to our stores and products. • To process credit applications: If you apply for a Cole’s Hardware credit account, we will use your information, and information provided by third parties such as a credit bureau, to decide whether to extend credit to you.
• To process job applications: If you apply for employment through our Site, we will use the information you provide to evaluate whether to offer you an interview and/or job.

How We Protect Your Information

We adopt appropriate data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of Users’ personal information, username, password, transaction information and data stored on our Site.

Text Messages

You may sign up to receive text messages from us on our website by signing up for our Friends and Family Loyalty Program and checking the box that indicates you would like to receive text messages. By signing up to receive promotional text messages, you provide your signature authorizing Cole’s Hardware, or third parties acting on our behalf, to call or send text messages to your mobile phone number for advertising or marketing purposes using an automatic telephone dialing system or artificial or prerecorded voice. You may be charged by your mobile carrier for these calls or text messages. Receiving calls or text messages is not a condition of purchase, and you can opt out of receiving future calls or text messages at any time by texting STOP as a reply to a text message received from us, or by emailing marketing@coleshardware.com.

If you provide your phone number to us (for example, when signing up for our Friends & Family program or email list, or when purchasing products from our Site), but you do not consent to receiving promotional text messages, you may still receive non-automated calls related to the products or services that you requested (such as your participation in our Friends & Family program, your order, your credit account, your employment application, or any other products or services that you have requested).

Sharing Your Personal Information

We do not sell, trade, or rent Users’ personal information to others.

We may share generic, aggregated demographic information not linked to any personal information regarding Users with our business partners, trusted affiliates, and advertisers for the purposes outlined above.

Accessing Your Information

We retain the information we collect from our users indefinitely. You have the right to request that we disclose what personal information we collected, used, or disclosed in the past 12 months. Once we receive your request and verify your identity by matching the information you provide with our records, we will disclose to you:

We will confirm receipt of your access request within 10 business days, and we will normally respond to your request within 45 calendar days of receipt. We will notify you if additional time is needed to process your request.

Your Right to Request Deletion of Your Personal Information

You have the right to request that we delete the personal information that we collected from you, subject to certain exceptions. You may submit a deletion request by email at marketing@coleshardware.com, or by mail at 25 Enterprise Drive, Danville, PA 17821. Once we receive your request and verify your identity, we will delete (and direct our service providers to delete) your personal information from our records. If we deny your deletion request, for example because an exception applies, we will notify you of the basis for denying your request. If we delete your personal information, we will maintain a record of complying with your request. Please note that we will maintain personal information in our database whenever we are required to do so by law.

Non-Discrimination

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your rights described in this Privacy Policy.

Do Not Track

The Site does not respond to web browser “do not track” signals at this time. If we do so in the future, we will describe how we do so in this Privacy Policy.

Children’s Privacy

We are committed to protecting the privacy needs of children and we encourage parents and guardians to take an active role in their children’s online activities and interests. The Site is not intended for and may not be used by children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 16 and we do not target the Site to children under the age of 16. If we learn or have reason to suspect that a Site user is under age 16, we will promptly delete any personal information in that user's account.

We encourage Users to frequently check this page for any changes to stay informed about how we are helping to protect the personal information we collect. Users acknowledge and agree that it is their responsibility to review this privacy policy periodically and become aware of modifications.

User’s Acceptance of These Terms

By using this Site, Users signify their acceptance of this policy. If a User does not agree to this policy, please do not use our Site. A User’s continued use of the Site following the posting of changes to this policy will be deemed their acceptance of those changes.
